On the 21st February 2014, Otters ASC began a new chapter in their history. The senior team played its first-ever competitive Winter League Game. The game against Ta’ Xbiex ended in a 9 – 9 draw. Ta’ Xbiex agonizingly managed to net the equalizer 1.3 seconds before the final whistle after the referee had decided to change possession for what he interpreted as delaying tactics 4 seconds before the end of the game !  In reality it was a game which our team dominated for long stretches and should have won by a comfortable margin.

Steve Dimech scored the first Otters Winter League goal and managed two other goals during the game. Player/Coach John Paris scored four goals, while Keith Grima Scott and captain George Louis Zammit netted a goal each. In the absence of Technical Adviser, Mr Alfred Cachia (who was abroad), Paul Dimech guided the team from the bench and he was assisted by Kevin Mizzi.
