All those close to the Club knew that the Otters Committee has a lot of admiration for left hander Luke Hyzler and centre Edward Meli. During the past four years these two young promising players spent a few seasons on loan with Otters and they left a very good impression with the Club’s administration. So when Sliema decided to put Luke and Edward on the transfer market, Otters left no stone unturned in order to acquire their services and met Sliema’s asking fees for their transfers. Edward and Luke both signed four year contracts with Otters at the offices of the Club’s main sponsors, NIVEA.
