Rationale

Rationale: This ballot item is for the Standard Guide for Training Entities for Amusement Industry Ride Operators, Ride Maintenance Technicians, and Ride auditors. A draft of this standard has been balloted twice before. The previous task group reviewed all negatives and found several to be persuasive. This ballot includes several revisions and we appreciate your review and input at this time. Currently, there is not an industry standard in regards to training being offered for operators, maintenance technicians and auditors for amusement ride devices by training entities. To assist with keeping the amusement industry safe, it is important that training entities have requirements as identified within this proposed standard. This guide does not suggest how to operate a training entity, however what should be expected to have a quality program. This guide is meant for external training entities (Example: AIMS, NAARSO, etc.)

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
